How to preload

PlayStation 5

  1. Open the game's page in the store, or in your library once you own it.
  2. Choose download. The console fetches the files in the background, also in rest mode.
  3. At unlock the game is ready; there is no second download.

Xbox Series X|S

  1. Open the game's page in the store, or find it under your games and apps once you own it.
  2. Choose install or pre-install. The console downloads while it is on or in standby.
  3. At unlock the game is ready to start.

Steps are generic; menu names differ between system versions. Disc editions still download an update on the day.
